Martyn McKenzie is an artist living and working in Glasgow. Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012, he has exhibited in numerous group shows and held two solo-shows. Alongside his practice as a painter, he has also produced commissioned works of public art which explore a more sculptural approach. McKenzie exhibited as a finalist for the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2015 at the Mall Galleries in London, and amongst other galleries has exhibited at The McLean Museum Greenock, House for an Art Lover Glasgow, and the Fruitmarket Gallery Edinburgh.
For his second solo-show with the Sutton Gallery, McKenzie has developed a body of work which looks at the poetics of the landscape of Central Belt Scotland. The collection is inspired by his direct experiences within the landscape across the past three years and consists of works in oil and watercolour. Here is a preview of some of the works.
