☀️☀️ The Eco Larder beach clean ups on Cramond Beach will take place on the second Sunday of each month! ☀️☀️
The Eco Larder beach clean is back again! After the overwhelming success of the second beach clean (thanks again for that 🙏) we want to free Cramond beach from waste and nurdles regularly. 💦
Nurdles? They are tiny plastic pellets about the size of a lentil. Countless billions are used each year to make all our plastic products and many end up washing up on our shores. Unlike large pieces of plastic litter, nurdles are so small that they go largely unnoticed. However they have devastating effects on our delicate marine ecosystem and are ingested by marine animals like sea birds, fish and crustaceans! 🐟🦀🦆
We will collect these plastic particles for them to be recycled into an art piece.
Please bring lots of layers for the cold, we will have an eye on the weather forecast and let you know what to roughly expect. If you have any of your own equipment like litter pickers, handy hoops or gloves that would be fantastic but we will be bringing kit along on the day as well.
Young and canine beach cleaners are more than welcome! To let us know you are coming, please select attending on this event.
If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us via email (Stephanie & Matt) [email protected]
or by posting inside this event.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the beach!
