Jancis Robinson describes Burgundy as a “Small, expensive, infuriating, complicated region that delivers paradise in a bottle with increasing frequency”. A perfect description which explains why many are so confused about this region that they often steer clear of the stunning wines produced here.
Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 and since then the company’s philosophy of building a business with a high reputation and a substantial vineyard holding has remained true. Jadot owns vineyards from the toe of Beaujolais in the south to the tip of Chablis in the north, producing wines true to their region and terroir so who better to offer an ideal showcase of Burgundy?
Louis Jadot, Wine, Burgundy, Chablis, Beaujolais, Burgundy Wine Tasting Edinburgh, Edinburgh Wine Tasting, Edinburgh Wine Event, Gevrey Chambertin, Wine WorkshopKicking off with a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne (sadly Jadot doesn’t produce this), we’ll then go onto taste six Louis Jadot wines from the very north to the very south of this great wine region. Tasting our way through these regions with wines from one producer is a perfect way to gain a clear understanding of the different styles and to prove why these wines deliver “Paradise in a Bottle”.
We’ll have our usual cheese and charcuterie nibbles after the tasting along with another glass or two. Given the subject and since the average retail price per bottle is over £25 for these wines, this workshop is likely to be a popular one so best to book quickly.
