Harvey Nichols (Edinburgh)
30-34 St Andrew Square, EH2 2AD Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Our next session will be dedicated to preparing for our first protest! We will be making signs for picketing, learning about our cause and preparing for discourse with the public.
The fur industry causes vast and unnecessary pain for sentient beings. The vast majority of designer labels have promised to no longer engage in the inhumane practices. There has been widespread recognition of the cruelty of using fur when there are other, ethical means.
Sadly, Canada Goose has refused to take this stance and directly implements and perpetuates the suffering of wild coyotes.
Learn about the process behind the creation of Canada Goose Jackets at our session Protest Prep: Education and Sign Making
. We'll discussed the most effective ways of engaging in discourse with the public.
Sadly, these jackets have proliferated throughout the city, despite the suffering they infer. Many people are unaware of the sheer cruelty and suffering behind the label.
Aim of the protest:
*To inform and educate people.
* Shift perceptions.
*Discourage people from investing in the brand.
*Put more pressure on the brand via social media.
* Highlight the barbarism of the process.
*Engage in meaningful discourse about the issue.
We'll meet at St Andrews Square, by Costa at 1pm before heading to Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh's largest supplier of the brand.
If you have any additional resources, or signs that you could bring, please do.
